When someone talks about bench made furniture, they’re referring to any piece of furniture made by one artisan from beginning to end. This can be a dining table, chair, literally a bench… but it’s really anything made with the highest quality of craftsmanship. Sometimes synonymous with "made to order" or "handmade", the history of the term "bench made" comes from pieces being made on the artisan's worktop or workbench.
