Briefly tell us about your design journey.

Growing up in a small town outside of New Orleans, art and culture were everywhere. In the music, food, and architecture. As a little girl, I watched HGTV and dreamed of spaces I could create. In the late 90s, I was obsessed with Cherubs and had a (DIY) Baroque-styled bedroom. In my first year of college, I studied interior design at a local college, but life had other plans, and I ended up switching my major to human resources. Fast forward to today, I live in Austin, TX, with my husband and little boy. I still work in HR, but interior design is my passion, and I spend most of my free time dreaming of creating beautiful spaces. I'm so happy to have found Spoak, and I love how it allows me to creatively express myself.

Where do you find your inspiration?

I find inspiration in the challenge, helping friends design a space with their aesthetic or a Spoak Daily Play prompt! I like to jump out of my design comfort zone and experiment. My personal style is eclectic and trendy. And, I find inspiration in color (loving all pink), a piece of furniture, great fashion, or a celebrity home. I love Emma Chamberlain's home right now; it gives me life! I love Anthropologie, CB2, West Elm, and Lulu and Georgia. Also, publications like Domino magazine and Arch Digest.

Tell us about a designer or artist you love. What about them and their work are you drawn to?

Currently, Sally Breer, Kelly Wearstler, @Britdotdesign, I love mixing styles and materials in one space as long as there's a standard color scheme. Their work is thought-provoking and playful!

What do you do on your time off to recharge creatively?

My husband is a wildly talented artist and animator, so we share a creative space. At the end of the day, we separately work on a creative project. I'm in a cozy chair, and he's on his computer. I also like to cook, and I enjoy creating recipes!

What's the best thing you've consumed recently?

A pumpkin cheesecake with a gingersnap crust!
