There are many ways to give each room in your home a fresh fall feel. From bringing natural elements like dried florals to incorporating more fall-themed decor, we're here to spark inspiration as we head into the cooler weather. By focusing on small (but essential) elements throughout your home, you'll have a cohesive feel that reflects fall in no time.

Create a cohesive color palette inspired by seasonal foliage.

Try to bring the outside in by honing in on the vibrant colors in fall foliage, like yellow, orange, and brown. Then, work to incorporate a range of textures that reflect these colors by leaning into warm-colored elements from brass, wood, colored glass, and ceramics. Wooden pillar candles can dress up a room nicely, while ceramic vases work well for displaying dried flowers. Olive and taupe-hued glass vases are also beautiful for dried greenery and pampas. Creating a cohesive color palette inspired by seasonal foliage will bring life into your home design.

Find the perfect fall-themed wreath to hang on your door.

Decorative elements, like the perfect fall-themed wreath, add a touch of whimsy and charm to traditional fall decor. Who says all the fall decorations have to stay indoors?

The first thing your guests will see when they walk up to your home is your door, so why not have fun decorating that too? Try hanging a fall-themed wreath on your front door to create a natural fall moment and welcome your guests. A garland can add charm and personality to the front of your house or apartment. You can go full floral or a bit more understated and minimalist, depending on your style.

Bring on the pumpkins, but keep things interesting by blending textures and scale.

The start of fall is synonymous with pumpkins (queue pumpkin spice everything!). Pumpkins come in all different colors and textures, so they will naturally add a lot of variety to your space. Depending on your design style, you can opt for faux or real. The pro to using faux pumpkins is that they will last you for seasons; we love pumpkins made of wicker, ceramic, or glass.

Candles are also always an excellent addition to warm up your space, and this one from Anthropologie can be reused as a ramekin once the candle burns out. Alternatively, if you go the actual pumpkin route, try mixing and matching colors and sizes to get an eclectic fall look in your home.

Decorate with pillows and thick throw blankets throughout the season ahead.

Fall is all about texture, warmth, and coziness. Swapping out throw pillows is a quick way to give your room a refresh and add that comfy vibe. Lean into textures like velvet with cable-knit and darker shades of colors like green and red. A solid-colored pillow is complemented nicely by a patterned or striped pillow.

You can get a cute pumpkin throw if you want to go the themed route. You can also never go wrong with a super chunky snuggly blanket to cuddle up on colder nights. Fall is all about bundling up, so you can't go wrong with these items!

Textural elements, like wicker and rattan baskets, or garlands are go-to fall decorating items.

With the gorgeous changing leaves outside, it's hard not to dream of leaves peeping when you're home. Bring some foliage in by stringing a garland along a shelf, on a fireplace mantle, or use it as a centerpiece to run down the middle of your table. Wicker baskets are also great for kitchen displays. You can fill it with little white pumpkins or books for the fall and then use it for general storage in the off months. Earthy elements from rattan baskets also function well for holding chunky throw blankets or dried florals. When in doubt, display coffee table books with beautiful moody covers and luxe candles with notes of suede for cozy fall vibes.

Whether you're intentionally sprucing up your space for the fall or want to lean into the cozy vibes, remember to choose what you love and have fun with it! You can also visualize your decorations with Spoak's online design tool before you make any big decisions.
